The NVVFD Auxiliary is an active arm of the Fire Department. Members can participate in all or a few of the following activities:
  • Support the Fire Department at active fires and major accidents. Members provide water and Gatorade to firemen and EMT's on site.
  • Auction Support consists of working in the tent during the month of September sorting clothes, categorizing books, sports equipment, toys, white elephant tent items, etc. Members staff the auction areas the day of the auction.
  • Conducting fund raising events such as the Soup Contest and the Election Day Bake Sale.
  • Preparing the stockings and acting as Santa's elves for Operation Santa.

  • SOUP CONTEST
Every March and October, the Auxiliary sponsors a Soup Contest. Contestants bring a soup for attendees to sample. All attendees are allowed to vote for their favorite soup. Everyone is invited to attend. There is no age limit for participation in the contest. Prizes are awarded for the top 6 soups. Admission fee for all attendees is $6.00. This includes assorted soup and bread. Beverages and desserts can be purchased separately.  Bring the whole family! If you are interested in entering a soup, please contact Connie Cherillo at (973) 539-9383.

    ELECTION DAY BAKE SALE
As a fund raiser, the Auxiliary provides baked goods for sale during the early morning hours on each Election Day. Non-members are always welcome to bake for any of our events. Please support this effort when you come out to vote!

    EVENTS
Auxiliary members participate in all fundraising events for the Fire Department such as the Steak and Lobster dinner in June and the Auction in September. There are also many social activities for members.

    VOLUNTEERS WANTED
New members are always welcome. Joining the Auxiliary is a great way to become involved in the community and to meet new people. If interested in becoming a member, please contact Florence Orefice at (973) 822-0563.
